ST1 NATIONAL BLOCK TEACHING WEEK

Hello, Guest

65f. Multiple autoimmune disease. ?PBC

1. The H&E and HVG stains confirm established cirrhosis. There are very few bile ducts present (look for unaccompanied arteries). The nodules have an oedematous “Halo” around them. This is a biliary cirrhosis and turned out to be PBC (AMA positive).

2. The PASD shows many Kupffer cells (one of its uses) as a measure of the degree of “inflammation / turnover”.
